Experience with FedS

Boar Tribe Member (Boar Tribe’s Inaugural Year) – Arts Orientation 2007 – With little funding, little direction, and little supervision, and with only a small team, we were able to build a functional entity into the Arts Orientation experience that has served as a focal point for rejuvenated tradition within Arts Orientation. This has worked in conjunction with other Arts endeavours to raise pride and participation within the Arts faculty.

Federation Orientation Committee – Arts Orientation 2008 – Planned Arts Orientation in a 4-person team, increasing volunteers by over 200% of the previous year’s numbers. Improved the efficiency of transition for subsequent teams by effectively implementing ideas, structures, and traditions that could be carried forward through future years. Participated in the ASK ME cross-campus committee which established functional methods for the struggling entity to evolve and increase in capability.

Door Staff/ Supervisor/ Bar Back – The Bombshelter Pub – Worked in the position of door staff since the summer of 2008 and have risen to the position of supervisor, occasionally dabbling in bar back responsibilities. Have maintained dialogue with management on ways in which the business could be improved.

Security Coordinator – University of Waterloo Canada Day Celebrations Steering Committee – Sat on the steering committee for the event while offering experience in security to help improve the procedures. Continued the improvement of procedures, volunteer training and day-of policy setting. Streamlined many aspects of the job for future coordinators.

Boar Tribe Member/ FOC Assistant – Arts Orientation 2009 – Offered experience with Arts Orientation and Boar Tribe so as to help when appropriate, while still allowing current members of FOC and BoarTribe to operate in their own manner. Also advised that year’s manifestation of the ASK ME cross-campus committee.
